The ideal vanity unit for smaller bathrooms
The right vanity unit for every bathroom – you’ll find it here. In this case, a 40 cm vanity unit that’s perfect for smaller bathrooms. Especially when space is at a premium, systems that maximise storage without taking up too much visual space are ideal. This is where the 40 cm vanity units come in. They offer a range of benefits for smaller bathrooms.
Why the 40 cm vanity unit is the perfect choice
The majority of our vanity units come with a matching ceramic washbasin. You therefore don’t need to worry about whether the unit will fit your existing washbasin. The complete system is already fully coordinated, ensuring a hassle-free installation and use. The advantages of the 40 cm version of our vanity units are:
1. In a small bathroom, you can create much more storage space without compromising on anything.
2. They conceal water connections, which are particularly noticeable in small bathrooms.
3. Our vanity units are thoughtfully designed for use in the bathroom.
4. The 40 cm vanity unit is robust, durable and hard-wearing.
Of course, the 40 cm vanity unit also fits into medium-sized or larger bathrooms. However, it usually looks rather out of place there. Larger versions, which are also available in our range, are a better option in such cases. It is ideal for small bathrooms or a guest bathroom. You don’t usually need to keep many items there, and even if you do, there is plenty of space for them in this vanity unit. The larger the family, the more towels, soaps, shower gels and other bathroom essentials are needed. In such cases, however, the bathrooms are usually larger too, making a larger vanity unit a more suitable choice.
Is your bathroom suitable for a 40 cm vanity unit?
Bear a few points in mind so you don’t end up regretting your choice later on. We want you to make an informed decision when choosing the right vanity unit, as this is the only way you’ll enjoy your bathroom in the long term. Since you start and end your day in the bathroom, you’ll want to create a cosy atmosphere. You can achieve this by choosing the right vanity unit. So please bear the following points in mind:
1. Is a 40 cm vanity unit sufficient for you, or could it be a little larger? Stand in your bathroom and consider how much free space you’ll have left if you install a 40 cm vanity unit. Bear in mind that you’ll need to open the unit’s doors or drawers, which takes up additional space. However, bear in mind that you won’t be opening the doors or drawers all the time; this usually happens quite rarely. Nevertheless, ask yourself whether you’ll still be able to move around once the 40 cm vanity unit is installed. If so, think about whether a larger version might be a better option.
2. As smaller vanity units are usually very compact, it shouldn’t be a problem to install it exactly where you want it. However, check carefully whether the water connections are far enough away from the nearest wall or door for the vanity unit to be fitted there. If you’re constantly bumping the bathroom door against the unit because the connections are poorly positioned, consider having them relocated.
3. Do you need doors or drawers? The advantage of drawers is that you can reach in from above without having to bend down. The disadvantage is that you lose space, as the drawers – by their very design – take up room. Doors are generally a better option, particularly in a small bathroom with limited storage space. You don’t lose any storage space, but on the other hand you’ll have to kneel down every time you use them. However, this doesn’t have to be a problem, depending on what you store in the cupboard and how often you need it.
4. Which colours suit your bathroom? You can assume that you can mix and match our entire range. This means you’ll always find additional cupboards and modules that colour-coordinate with your vanity unit. But it’s up to you to decide which colour suits your bathroom. In darker bathrooms, you should opt for lighter colours. These enhance the contrast. The reverse is also true: in light-coloured bathrooms, you can create contrast with dark colours too.
